Harley-Davidson Inc. or Harley, was founded in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and was one of only two major American motorcycle manufacturers (along with Indian) to survive the Great Depression.
From 1977 to 2014, the only motorcycles sold to the public under the Harley-Davidson brand have been heavyweight motorcycles designed for cruising on highways. “Harleys” are noted for the tradition of heavy customization that gave rise to the chopper style of motorcycle.
Licensing of the Harley-Davidson brand and logo is a big part of the company’s business. In 2012 Harley teamed up with WileyX to provide a line of premium motorcycle eyewear.
The collection features the high-performance and protection demanded by active motorcyclists, including: virtually unbreakable frames and shatter resistant lenses; premium quality optics that eliminate glare and harmful UVA/UVB rays; and Wiley X’s patented, removable soft Facial Cavity seal that conforms to the face to block wind, dust and debris. This eyewear delivers a superior fit, comfort and style both on and off the motorcycle.
